How Battery Swapping Works at Spiro Stations

Spiro's automated battery swap systems let riders exchange a depleted battery for a fully charged one in minutes — keeping you on the road without waiting for a traditional charge cycle.

How a swap works

  1. Ride to a Spiro swap station shown in the app or on spironet.com.
  2. Park in the designated swap bay and follow on-screen or staff instructions.
  3. Remove your depleted battery and insert it into the swap cabinet.
  4. Receive a fully charged battery and install it on your bike.
  5. Confirm the swap in the Spiro app if prompted.

Network scale

Spiro has performed tens of millions of battery swaps and operates 40,000+ batteries in its network across seven African countries — one of the largest swap ecosystems on the continent.

Tips

  • Swap before your battery is completely empty to avoid being stranded.
  • Check station hours in the app — availability may vary by location.
