Why beeswax wraps?
Beeswax food wraps are a reusable alternative to cling film and foil. Infused cotton sheets seal bowls, wrap sandwiches, and cover cut produce. With proper care, a quality wrap lasts six to twelve months in daily kitchen use.
Daily care routine
- Hand-wash in cool water with mild dish soap
- Air-dry flat or on a dish rack — never wring or twist
- Avoid hot food, ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers
- Do not use with raw meat or fish unless dedicated wraps are assigned
Refreshing wax coating
When folds become stiff or the seal weakens, refresh the wrap using a beeswax blend bar. Place the wrap on baking parchment, grate wax evenly, and warm in a low oven (approximately 100°C) for two to three minutes. Spread with a brush and hang to cool.
Storage tips
Roll wraps loosely or store flat in a drawer away from heat sources. Keep different sizes labelled for bakery, deli, and prep stations. For corporate gift sets, include a care card — GoGreen UK offers co-branded inserts on bulk orders.
End of life
When a wrap no longer holds a seal, cut it into strips and add to a compost bin if your blend is 100% natural fibre and beeswax. Mixed synthetic blends should go to textile waste per local guidance.
